the unusual:.

"Before familiarity can trust into awareness, the familiar must be stripped of it's inconspicuousness; we must give up assuming that the object in question needs no explanation. However frequently recurrent, modest, vulgar it may be, it will now be something unusual." ~Bertold Brecht

I am hoping for the unfamiliar. craving what's unacquainted. wash over me your newness. cannonballing into newfangled seasons...experiences...endevors. i miss you my dear friend. the unknown has me wrapped around it's finger. can i see through it's eyes? have it's boldness? i feel at the crux of rattling decisions. what will it be? so. what will it be. all that matters is that I be. i am confident that beauty will come through it either way. "be":: to exist or live. "exist":: to remain or to be found. the latter has me curious.

Thanks for inviting us into the season you are in, where it seems you might actually be drifting between one ending and one approaching. But whether leaving, drifting or arriving, may the mystery never die. Like Brecht's quote speaks of, it's easy to retain mystery in the unknown, but to find continued mystery in the familiar is something altogether daunting and quite possibly, an art.

The greatest part is that as you "be" and "exist", there is always something "to be found", with new sights to behold and new experiences to be captured and lived out, even if what you find lies merely inside of you—because what is inside of us, if it be truly authentic, can never "merely" be contained only inside of us. It must be released, let out and exposed, like a hidden seed growing towards the light of day.

All that language to say this: Whatever comes for you and whatever you find in the 'unusual' will have the beauty you speak of and I can't wait to see what that looks like for you as it plays itself out. It's an exciting place to be and I'm really really excited for you. I'm honored to be one of many witnesses.
